New Release: Far From The Sun: The Origin Of Suffering

Updated: Jan 13, 2023

First, let's get the bio out of the way!

The Origin of Suffering, the second Far From Your Sun album, will take you from the banks of the Nile in Ancient Egypt to the heart of the 19th century and the poems of Emily Dickinson and Oscar Wilde, from the coming of Jesus on earth to the signs of the end of the world. Prepare yourself for a historical, spiritual, emotional and artistic journey.

We took a deep dive into the Paris based band Far From Your Sun. It always feels great to jump into a new group that takes their music seriously both audio and video wise. It felt great to roam through their catalog, check their website and just immerse ourselves with the group.

The intro, full of lush electric guitars, really set the tone for what is about to come. We love how the band slowly join instrument by instrument until the final groove is laid down and the singer joins. This is not even music—it’s more like a flow of naturally matching sounds, whose overall shape is sometimes mysterious, or sometimes sincerely open in melody. You may have the same feeling if you sit by a lake at dusk; cicadas, whispering grasses, and splashing water would also shape out a melody.

Far From Your Sun have a familiar yet unique sound that feels honest, organic and raw. Yet polished. Very polished.
